So excited, album launch with Frank Harrison is this Wednesday 23rd May at Kings Place- Come down and celebrate with us!

So much beautiful music out there! I feel very privileged to be surrounded by it too.. This coming month will see the launch of two amazing albums that couldn't be so different from eachother:

First stop Dave Manington's Riff Raff at the Vortex Jazz Club on Saturday 12th May are launching 'Challenger Deep', featuring one stellar musician after another Ivo Neame-piano/keys, Rob Updegraff-guitar, Tom Challenger-tenor sax, Dave Manington-double bass/ compositions, Tim Giles-drums and I also get to take my electronic toys out :)

Then at Kings Place on Wednesday 23rd May with one of the most lyrical pianists I've ever heard: Frank Harrison! We'll be launching our duo album 'The Way Home' ('A truly beautiful recording'- Norma Winstone)

I really hope you can make one of the above concerts as they will be very special!

Of course,do have a stroll in the dates page for more wonderful gigs.

Check out the dates page in the meantime and I will keep you updated on all exciting news coming up soon!!

Much love,

Whilst hibernation season is upon us, thankfully loads of things to keep us out of bed, including the London and Cambridge Jazz Festivals! I'm very excited that there are a few gigs coming up with Issie Barratt's great dectet "Interchange" (see the dates page for more details), and amongst other things at the other end of the spectrum I'm looking forward to a very special gig with long-time collaborator John Turville at the Cambridge Jazz Festival. See an interview I did here, courtesy of Matt Pannell and LondonJazz.

See you soon!

A lot has happened since my last news, apologies for the prolonged silence! On a particularly rainy and cooler evening signaling what seems to be the end of summer, what a perfect time for a little update on what's been going on in my world!

After the Riff Raff tour, which felt truly wonderful, we recorded a new album- I can report that I have now heard it and absolutely love it! It's in the last stages of mastering and I can't wait to share it with you all! In the meantime here is a little taster, in case you missed us on tour:

A few months later, just before summer started I went into the studio with incredible pianist Frank Harrison and recorded his new album, a collection of beautiful and lyrical compositions- More on this very soon!

A quick stop at Manchester Jazz festival where I had a blast with Andre Canniere's band- reviewed here -Then straight into teaching and performing on three jazz summer schools in England, France and Germany for a total of four weeks; although this may seem like a lot, all the tutors and students there were absolutely amazing and it was a real joy to be part of it all.

After much bread, cheese, meat and wine I then came back to London and went into the studio with beloved Solstice with whom I toured extensively back in the Spring (featuring Tori Freestone, John Turville, George Hart, Jez Franks and Dave Manington) to record our second album- Two great days of plenty of music-making, so we should have a lovely album at the end of it!

Lots and lots of things to share with you! For now do look at the gigs page for the next adventure and in the meantime, I shall leave you with a Jazz Podcast I recorded a few weeks back with the lovely Mr Rob Cope- We had a nice chat about the weather and other things, enjoy :)

Already the first month of January far behind, the Riff Raff tour continues with a gig at the Crypt in Camberwell tomorrow and we're hitting the South West next week which is very exciting- Check out the 'Dates' page for more info! These gigs will culminate into a recording at the end of the month- it's a real treat to sing Dave's music with an absolutely killing band!

In the middle of all this I'm off to Hull this weekend to sing like a bird- literally! I've been very lucky to be involved in a unique and fascinating project inspired by and celebrating the music of Basil Kirchin. Here is an article about it.

I'm so excited to announce that the release of Solstice's new album is now imminent! We are celebrating with a date at the Vortex Jazz Club on Wednesday 7th December- click here to book your tickets!

And here is our official video to wet your appetite :)

Hope to see you at the Vortex on 7th December!
